ISO 22000:2018 is the internationally recognised Food Safety Management System (FSMS). It applies to all organisations in the food chain and helps ensure the quality, safety and reliability of products from ‘farm to fork’. So, it’s equally applicable to farmers and primary producers, processors, manufacturers, distributors, wholesalers and retailers. It’s a framework that combines prerequisite programs, the HACCP principles and application steps as described by the Codex Alimentarius Commission and elements of the ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems standard.
